Hide featured Image in Single Posts, Display for Google Search

  • I want to add a featured image to my blog post but do not want to display it in single posts.

Just want it to display on the blog page and also make the image available for the SGE in Google(As attached in the image).

    Google SGE

What is the best way to do this?

  • Hi there,

For reference, can you share a link to a Post on your site?

  • I have added a link to a post in the private information area. It doesn’t contain a featured image yet. However, I need to add one so that it is displayed in the Google SGE.

    Please check.

  • If you haven’t disabled the Featured Image yet, you can disable it in Appearance > Customize > Layout > Blog > Featured Images > Post.

Then to alter the way Posts appear on Search Engines, you can use an SEO plugin like Yoast. Reference: https://yoast.com/snippet-preview/
