I have a post that I’d like to turn into a template since I will be using the same layout for many other posts. Is there any way to go about this with GeneratePress or GenerateBlocks?

Hi there,
You can do this with a Block Element → Content Template in GeneratePress Pro.
- Go to Appearance → Elements → Add New → Block.
- Choose Element Type → Content Template.
- Build your layout using GenerateBlocks. Add Dynamic Data tags for things like Post Title, Post Date, and Post Content so each post pulls its own data.
- Under Display Rules, select Posts → All Posts (or only certain categories if needed).
Now every post will use that template automatically.

Thank you for the reply, but I guess I didn’t explain what I want to do well enough.
I’d like to create a template that I can use inside the post editor when I’m writing a post. This would consist of an arrangement of containers, text, and images all layed out in the way I want so that I don’t have to waste time doing over again and again.
How would I go about doing this.. if possible?

Hi there,
In this case, you can select all the blocks in your post and from the block toolbar menu choose Create Pattern. Make sure to uncheck “Sync”. Then, for each new post, you can insert that pattern and reuse the same layout without rebuilding it.
