How to Select Fonts from Local Font Library in WordPress Editor?

  • Hello,

I’m using the Local Font Library to store Google Fonts locally on my website. However, these fonts are not appearing in the font selection dropdown in the WordPress Editor, so I can’t assign them to my text. How can I make these locally stored fonts available for selection within the WordPress Editor?

    Thank you for your assistance.

  • Hi there,

which blocks are you using in the editor that you want to select the font in ?

  • Hi,
I am using GenerateBlocks for the headlines to which I want to assign the font. However, I can only select Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman, and Georgia. Google Fonts would work if I hadn’t blocked them. The Google Font I have embedded wouldn’t be included in the Google Fonts templates anyway. Due to GDPR, I can only use Google Fonts locally. So that’s not an option anyway.

  • Ok.
You can just type in the family name into the field and hit return just make sure NOT to check the google font API option.
Or you can hook them into the list, this doc explains how:

  • Thank you very much. This works perfectly and is exactly what I was looking for. It’s just a shame that it doesn’t work automatically.

  • The typography list will update automatically in the GenerateBlocks 2.0 ( currently in alpha release ) blocks 🙂
    Glad to be of help
