By “separate WordPress installation” I mean a second, fresh WordPress site — separate from your current one — where you can import Trainer without overwriting your existing content.

A few common ways to set one up:

• A staging site through your host (most hosts like SiteGround, Kinsta, WP Engine offer one-click staging).
• A subdomain or subdirectory install (e.g. demo.yoursite.com) via your host’s control panel.
• A local install on your own computer using something like LocalWP.

Once that second site is running with GeneratePress active, go to Appearance > GeneratePress > Site Library, import the Trainer Starter Site, then copy the blocks you want and paste them into your main site.

Like George said, you need to have a staing site, import the template to your staing site, then you can copy the blocks from the staging site and paste it to your live site.

What do you mean by not making it live on that site?

It looks like you are already using the Trainer template. Do you still have the 2 pages? If so, you can edit the page and copy the blocks from the imported Trainer pages.

Did you delete the pages? Are they in the trash bin?
