Inconsistency between what GenerateBlocks Pro displays and the front-end CSS

  • Hi,

I’ve found an inconsistency between what GenerateBlocks Pro displays in the editor and what is actually generated in the front-end CSS.

When I set a link color using the “Links” tab on a text block and select the Accent color from the global palette, the editor correctly previews the blue accent color. However, inspecting the front-end output shows that GenerateBlocks generates color: var(–base-3) instead of color: var(–accent).

The affected links are located inside a Loop — Blog and Archives element, used on an archive page (category page). The text block containing the links is part of the loop template.

I have attached screenshots of both the editor and the browser DevTools inspection to illustrate the issue.

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

This probably happens because you have set link colors in Appearance -> Customizer ->Colors -> Content section and that takes priority. We usually advice users not to use the Customizer content colors and instead use the colors in the Body section of the Customizer.

  • In Appearance > Customize > Color, I changed the overall color palette. However, I hadn’t made any changes to the content area. Currently, in the content area, there are no colors assigned for text or links. So I don’t think the problem lies there.

  • Hello,

Can you share a URL please?

  • Hello, I just added the url in private information.

  • Thank you, sorry I should have asked earlier. Which element on the page has the issue?

  • In the right-hand column, below the title “Les derniers articles”, there’s a list of the latest articles. It does exist on the page, but the text is white on a white background, so it’s not visible.

  • Hello,

Those links seem to have a white link color local style from the GenerateBlocks settings. This will always take priority.

  • In my first message, I included a screenshot of the block settings, showing the block reference bg-text-a7ed0091 and the blue color of the links. However, when I inspect those links in Google Chrome, they appear white. And this white color is clearly inherited from the same block reference (bg-text-a7ed0091). That’s why I can’t understand the situation.

  • Hi,

You are using a query loop in a sidebar element, I believe. You can edit that element, then click the title. On the right you should have a Links selector with white color in Typography, like in the screenshot below:

    White link color

If you do, remove that color.
