The colors I am trying to use in the interface are not matching what is shown once published.
Here are examples of what I want vs what is being displayed.
Not sure what I am doing wrong.

The background color you set for the site header is semi-transparent, so you can see through it, that’s why it looks purple-ish, because the color underneath the site header is purple.
Same goes to the site footer color.
Just make sure you are using solid color, instead of semi-transparent ones 🙂

You can change or remove the color under Customize > Colors > Body > Background.
