I am re-building my Home page because there was suddenly a critical error whenever I tried to edit the page. All other GP pages and posts on the website are unaffected and OK.
After numerous back-and forth with my host site support to see if they could fix it, I decided to simply rebuild the Page. Unfortunately, the GP/GenerateBlocks Pro editor is acting up again.
Specifically,
1.WheneverI try trying to save a Grid column, the editor goes into a never-ending “Autosaving” mode and gets stuck there. This does not allow the Page to reload or user to exit
2. Also, the Font Family drop down box is unresponsive on the first click and is VERY SLOW to drop down. I have contacted my host support team, disabled all plugins, cleared cache, restarted chrome. Doesn’t help.Hope you can help. Thanks

Hi Cecilia,
You can use this plugin to create a temporary admin login that’s easy to revoke once the issue is sorted:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/Then just share the login URL in the Private Info section so we can check the issue on the backend.
Thanks!

I have added the temporary access link to the private section

I tested editing the Draft homepage, and I wasn’t able to replicate the two issues you mentioned. I did notice that saving takes a bit longer than usual, but the changes still get saved.
Have you tried editing in a different browser or in an incognito window? Sometimes browser extensions can interfere with the editor.

I was able to replicate the issues on the desktop bomepage by adding content to the remaining 2 containers before Autosave started spinning again forever. The Page can’t reload and I can’t safely exit. I have left it spinning for you to see. I am NOT tech savvy, but someone told me this might be a classic editor JS failure. I’m hoping that you can better understand this to get resolution. Thanks

I do not see any issue in the editor either. This is what I see:
https://app.screencast.com/BqU4KplTSJC9QI think your issue might be local; your computer and browser might be the cause. I would suggest trying it on another device or at least another browser.

I will try on a different browser and let you know

Yes, keep us updated!

Many thanks. I think the issue might be with the Chrome browser. I have switched over to MS Edge and the editor seems to be working fine.

Glad to hear that 🙂
