Issues with the WP Block Editor Display and the New Local Font Library

  • We have been working to transition from the prior approach of adding local fonts (As detailed in your “Adding Local Fonts” documentation) to the New Local Font Library approach.

We use a child theme css file that enables us to use a clamp responsive typography design that has worked well up to date using the old local fonts approach. In the instructions of “Adding Local Fonts“, we also have been using the recommended PHP code in order to show local fonts in the WP block editor that is presented at the end of that page.

With the new Local Font Library approach, we are able to render final pages correctly, but it seems we’ve lost the ability to show local fonts or even direct changes to the block’s typography in the WP block editor.

Do you have any suggestions on this?

  • Hi there,

I can not replicate the issue, the editor shows the correct local font in the editor when I tested.

Can you try disabling all plugins and custom functions to test?

  • After testing prior versions of the child theme files, this is clearly the result of something that I coded incorrectly.

    Apologies for the false alarm.

    This is closed.

  • No problem 🙂
