Mega Menu with Click

  • I’d like to use the CSS for making a simple mega menu (https://docs.generatepress.com/article/building-simple-mega-menu/). It works great when my navigation dropdown is set to “Hover.” I’d prefer to set it to “Click – Menu Item,” but when I do so, the submenu items (but not their background color) appear when hovering over the primary menu item (i.e., not just when clicked — then they are clicked, then the background color appears, as well).

Is there a simple tweak or two I can make to the CSS to allow this to work with a dropdown that is clicked?

  • Hi there,

That should work for Click – Menu Item. For reference, could you share the link to your site so we can assess what’s occurring?

  • I’ve actually decided to not use a mega menu for the site, so you can disregard this issue. I suppose it may have been a conflict with some other CSS on the site.

  • I see.
