Hi I have gone through a bunch of threads from 2019 to 2021 and there seems to be no way to have the mini cart show on mobile, I wanted to see if it is still the case in 2023?
Just for this feature I will have to look into using a third party plugin which comes with a heap of optimization and performance issues of its own.
Is there any way I can show the mini cart on mobile, maybe at click event on cart icon?
Generatepress’s mini cart that works on Desktop is more than good enough and would be SO COOL to have it working on mobile as well.
It would really suck to come so close and still have to use another plugin to solve this.

Hi there,
Do you mean the mini cart submenu?
On desktop, you can hover the mini cart to see the submenu, but on mobile, there isn’t a hover state, only click state, so when you click the cart icon, you will be directed to the cart page.
I don’t think there’s an easy way around it, unfortunately.
-
yes I wanted to drop down the cart as it does on desktop when I click on mobile cart icon instead of taking users to the cart page.

Hi there,
the current menu cart doesn’t support that action.
Its only visible on desktop by way of a hover event, and trying to change that would require custom development. -
Hi Dave,
say I was to hire someone for it, what directions must I give him to make the task straight forwards.
it is ok if this is something you cannot help with. It just that making conversation short an concise with developers has played in my favour in the past.

You just need to tell the developer what you want to achieve, if he’s good at what he’s doing, he should know what code needs to be altered right away 🙂

so I engaged someone and he seem to have figured out a way to drop gp premium cart on mobile, But for whatever reason it don’t really show the content in it on mobile devices.
I wanted to check in with you to see if we can do something so the content is visible?

It seems to be working on a mobile device (the mini cart shows when clicking on the cart icon).
Have you figured it out already? -
yes I engaged someone for it and he was able to fix it up.
Only thing I am missing at the moment is to have the empty cart state on mobile, since now on mobile the box collapses even if there is no items in it.

since now on mobile the box collapses even if there is no items in it.
What does this mean? Do you want the mini cart sub-menu to show even when there’s no item in the cart?
I see that when it’s empty, the text ” no products in the cart ” shows.
Already figure out?

looks like that is the case, I think I spoke too soon or should have tested more.

Nice! Your developer has done a good job 🙂
