Multiple page hero elements on front page

  • Hi, I searched through several posts and couldn’t quite find an answer to this particular issue, and I am an absolute newbie with this stuff.

I’d like to have a looping video play directly under our big page hero photo which is merged with the navigation. Do I need to create a new page hero element? Does this need to be a page hero at all? A little confused how to implement this. I’ve linked to the site as is. Thank you!

  • Hi there,

If the video is only going to be added in one place, you don’t need to create a separate Element for it. Simply edit the page that’s set as the homepage and add the video directly there. It should automatically appear below the current page hero by default.

  • Thank you! I figured that was the simplest solution. I was able to successfully (I think) make a page hero with a looping video in the background and a text overlay, using the header element and following the directions on the site. I’m actually not sure how to get the same exact effect on a normal page – does the code provided here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/page-hero-background-video/ -work the same as making this on a standard page (page set to homepage)?

    Thanks again for the help.

  • Yes, the article applies to standard pages too. Just use the HTML block to insert the code.

  • Thank you for your help!

  • You’re welcome!
