Need Help to Speed Up My Mobile Website

  • Dear GeneratePress Support Team,

I recently switched to the GeneratePress theme to improve my mobile website’s speed. However, I have noticed that my website’s speed score is lower than before. I need assistance in optimizing my website’s performance.

Changed most images to WebP format and reduced file sizes.

Despite these efforts, my website’s speed remains suboptimal. I would greatly appreciate any guidance or recommendations on how to improve my website’s performance further.

Could you please review my website’s setup and provide suggestions for optimization? My website’s URL is: http://www.traveltoride.com

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Sincerely,

  • Hi there,

I just ran your site through the Google Lighthouse test the result is pretty good already:

  • Hi Leo,

    Thanks for your quick response.

Desktop is fast, mobile load time is slow.

Do you have any specific tips for mobile?

  • Hi there,

testing your site, the performance issues are primary related to:

    a) 3rd party codes eg. Google Fonts and Google Analytics
    b) Plugin code eg. Woocommerce
    c) server side eg. add page caching

Google Fonts are always a drain on performance, and loading them locally can improve that. You can follow this guide to install the fonts locally . But read on first.

Server side caching, have a chat with your host about page caching as this will help improve server responsie times. But you will need to consider Woocommerce in this arrangement.

You may want to consider a plugin like perfmatters or alternatives as that can do a lot of the ( non cache related ) optimizations like locally loading fonts, removing plugin code where its not required ( a must have for Woo site ) as well as deferring the loading of scripts.
