Hello, I’m currently testing the new features in GB related to user roles. What immediately stands out to me is:
Is there no way to set certain restrictions for other users as well, even if they have administrator status?
Why am I asking? My clients are generally assigned administrator status because it’s their installation, and I don’t want to limit their general permissions.
Especially considering that a client might want to switch agencies at some point, this is simply easier to handle.
And it would be incredibly effective if your new feature addressed this exact issue: permissions based on the user, not on the user’s role.
This way, we wouldn’t limit our customers to their specific roles, but we could still ensure that nothing happens during day-to-day editing that could, for example, disrupt the site’s layout. I’d be really, really happy if you could add this option to the new feature, because that’s exactly what affects my daily work.
Thank you in advance and have a nice weekend all,
Stephan -

Hi Stephan,
We will consider user specific conditions in a future review. In the meantime you can use this plugin to create a custom role for your clients.

Hi George,
that’s exactly why I’m so excited about your new feature—precisely because I no longer have to rely on additional plugins. 🙂
Okay, thanks. I’ll wait and see if you implement a corresponding extension to the user role.
Have a nice weekend!
