Hello everyone! I’m reaching out because I have an issue when trying to update, for example, the links in the footer. I get a message that says “The update failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.” This happens in any section of elements. I can’t update anything.
I’m attaching an image.
Thanks for everything!
Best Regards!

Hi there,
Can you disable all other plugins and custom functions to test?
-
Hi Ying!
I don’t know which plugins to remove. Do you mean all the plugins I have installed?
-
I’ve checked the list of plugins, and I have the same plugins as always installed. In fact, I removed some yesterday to have fewer. It’s always worked fine, but for the past few days, the update in elements has been failing.

Hi there,
You can disable all plugins except GP Premium and GenerateBlocks. After that, check if saving no longer shows the JSON error. If the error is gone, reactivate the plugins one by one to identify which plugin is causing the issue.
Additionally, when saving the post that triggers the JSON error, open the browser console to see if there are any significant errors logged there.

Hi there,
debugging this kind of issue can be complicated.
Does the error occur on every post, page or element ?
If yes, then it is most likely a plugin or a code snippet that is causing the issue.
Temporarily disabling plugins or removing code snippets is the way to debug this.Does the error occur only on some posts, pages or elements ?
If yes, then it is more likely related to some content on the post.
Temporarily removing the content and trying to resave the post will confirm that. Some things to look for, which can cause this kind of error:
a) if the post contains a shortcode
b) the site is using a PHP Snippet to modify the blocks output -

Hi there!
I’ve done what Alvind told me. It’s not working. I’ve deactivated the plugins and only kept GeneratePress and GenerateBlocks activated. Even with just those plugins active, it’s still not working, and the same error message appears. I’m worried because I need to make some modifications to single post content element and the footer. I’ve checked the .htaccess file, and everything seems fine.
If I use the classic editor, the error doesn’t occur; it’s with the block editor that the error appears. I tested it on the TOP BAR. Now the social media icons are not showing.
What can I do now?
Best regards

If you think it’s necessary, I can give you access to my website. That might be the fastest option.

Fixed. The issue was the CDN cache. My hosting support team managed to resolve it by simply clearing the cache.
Thanks!!
