Try going to Appearance > Customize > Colors, then under Off Canvas Panel, remove the color set for the Sub-Menu Background option.

Do you have a cache plugin? If so, can you disable them so we can see the CSS?

Just took another look, and it seems the background color has changed to a subtle grey:
