Hello,
we are have our website checked for accessibility. One of the comments was that when the off canvas panel is opened with keyboard controls, the user is able to keyboard tab out of the menu to other focusable elements on the page.
The comment was that either the user shouldnt be able to tab out of the menu, or the menu should close automatically if the focus is outside of it.
Do you have a solution for this?
Thanks in advance,
Kees

Hi there,
I’m not sure I understand the issue here, as I don’t use keyboard tab, can you let me know what exactly it should behave with keyboard?
-
Hi Ying,
according to these accessibility guidelines the users shouldn’t be able to keyboard tab out of the offcanvas panel (after you opened the menu). So when you open the menu you are able to navigate through the menu links with the tab key on your keyboard. Once you are on the last link in the menu and tab again, the keyboard focus should return to the first link in the menu. Currently it goes to the next link outside the menu.
Or, the second option,: the off canvas panel should close automatically if you are able to tab out of it.
I added a video link in the private information to illustrate with two examples.

Hi there,
We are aware of this issue, and currently working on a fix.

Hi Alvind,
any idea if this fix will be in the next update or if it could take a while?
I have to fix the accessibility issues on our website in the coming weeks to pass the test. If a fix could take a while I will have to make a temporary fix myself.
Thanks in advance.

This issue has been moved to our priority list for a patch, and hopefully it can be included in the next update.
However, we still do not have a definitive timeline for the release.
