Ongoing Issue: Missing Elements Hook/Header

  • Hi,

    https://postimg.cc/YGHfz5Wq

This issue was reported quite some time ago and, as far as I understand, it was expected to be fixed by now. Unfortunately, I still encounter it from time to time, which has become quite frustrating, as the only workaround seems to be creating a new user account. The newly created user works fine for a while, but eventually the issue reappears.

I understand that development priorities can change, but many of us are still experiencing a number of unresolved issues in the current version. From what I can see in the community, the most frequently requested improvements relate to FSE and WooCommerce support, while recent development efforts seem to be focused on areas such as Forms.

I truly appreciate the work the team is doing and the quality of the product overall. I just wanted to share this feedback from the perspective of someone using GeneratePress/GenerateBlocks extensively in production environments. It would be reassuring to see more attention given to long-standing issues and highly requested improvements.

  • Hi there,

This issue should have been fixed in GP Premium 2.5.1. You can check the changelog here:
    https://generatepress.com/gp-premium-2-5-1/

We haven’t received any similar reports since that release. If possible, could you provide login details for an account that is experiencing the issue so we can take a closer look?

  • Hi, yes, I know about 2.5.1, but I still keep seeing this issue randomly on GP sites I create.

Right now I can share my credentials, but I already had to delete the previous users and create a new one because I needed to keep working on the website. Creating a new user fixed the issue for now.

If it helps, you can find the credentials in the private info. Maybe you’ll still be able to spot something.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the credentials. Before we dig in, could you check one thing on an affected account: open the Element, click Screen Options at the top-right, and confirm the boxes for the Element settings are ticked. If they’re unticked, re-ticking them will bring the panels back. Screen Options preferences are saved per-user, which would also explain why a new user account shows the panels again.

If that’s all it is, you can resolve it yourself anytime it happens without creating a new user.

If the boxes are already ticked and the panels are still missing, that’s something different and we’ll want to look closer. In that case:

    • Please don’t delete the affected user this time so we can inspect it.
    • Open your browser console (F12 → Console) on that screen and let us know if there are any errors.
  • Hi George, unfortunately is still there https://ibb.co/0yzgGBqr , this issue have not been fixed.

Yeah I have all settings checked of course as you can see.

Is too strange as it was working and now wanted to create a new hook and the editor will not show, I will try to logout and login again and change permalinks etc. but you have to fix this issue at some point.

  • Hi,

Can you follow my instructions from my last post, please? Anything in the browser console?
