post appears twice each page after theme change

  • Hi team,

I have just changed to a new GP theme (previous theme was gp as well) and noticed that all blog posts are appearing twice in each page.

The top most post on the page shows in the new theme formatting, while the at the bottom page, shows a duplicate post in the old theme format

    Please help in resolving this.

  • Hi there,

It looks like there might be two content templates being rendered on the same page. Could you check which Element is active on this particular page?

  • Hi Alvind,

Thank you for the quick response.

    How do I check this?

Once found, how do I know which one to disable/delete?

  • While logged in and viewing the current post, hover over the ‘Element’ menu in the top admin bar. It will show which Element is active on that page.

Let me know what Element is active there.

  • Thanks Alvind,

    It shows 7 elements:

    Top social icons (Hook)
    Search modal (Search modal)
    Footer (Site Footer)
    Single post (Content Template)
    Footer (Site Footer)
    Search Bar

Is this standard? i.e. to have these number of elements per blog post?

    If not, Whats best practice?

  • No, it’s not, you have two site footer elements, there should only be one, you currently have two site footers, one comes with the Voice template, and you create another one.

It looks like you have 2 content templates, but according to the list, you only have 1 content template.

Any chance you can provide an admin login for us to check the backend?

  • Aha got it, I see it now. there are two of each when I hover over the Elements button.

I’ll delete the one that references the old content and that should be good. Do I need to configure anything else other than deleting the unwanted content template?

  • The post layout looks good now. I don’t think there’s anything else that needs to be done.

  • You’re welcome!
