Hello Support !
I have a more than a handful of posts
on my site (posts, not pages) with
enabled commenting. However, when I go into the backend
of those posts I no longer see the
option to toggle commenting on and off.Likewise, when I create a post (not a page)
that should not have commenting enabled,
it turns out that commenting is enabled.I suspect I need to make a change in
one of the settings.John

Hi there,
in the post admin view, if you Quick Edit a post, do you see the option to:
Allow Comments
there ? -

Hi David,
I have no idea what Quick Edit means.
Is that an option somewhere? I can’t find it. -
David
In the Admin > Posts view , hover over a post title to see the extra options.
See here: -

Oh, of course, Quick Edit as
an option when all posts are listed.Got it. Thanks, David.
Ok, does that mean that enabling
and disabling commenting can only
be done via Quick Edit? -
David
It should still show in the editor.
But WP does have its odd quirks.
What version of WordPress are you running?
As in WP 6.6.1 those options are visible but they are using a new layout in the editor see here: -

Oh, WP moved it.
I did not figure that out. Thanks, David !
