Post Hero – not showing image on iPad/iphone

  • Featured image from posts are not showing on vertical iPad or on iPhone. This seems like an error, rater than a chosen feature.

    Check Golfstart.dk

  • Hi there,

Your single post does not have a featured image, and it does not exsit on desktop as well.

You need to add a GB image block and set it to the featured image in the h1 title area.

  • You must have looked at one of the fake posts, that points to a page. All real posts have featured images.

    Test with this one: https://www.golfstart.dk/anmeldelser/hornbaek-golf-pay-play/

  • I see 🙂

Edit the page hero element for single posts, and select the container with class .gb-element-ca2760bc, switch to tablet mode, and change its min-height from auto to 50vh in the sizing panel.

Let me know if this helps!

  • Thanks, Ying – that fixed the iPad. How bout mobile?
I tried the same with no success…

  • It should work for mobile as well.

But I do not see the changes, can you clear your cache?

  • Thanks. Just cleared cache.
Looking at ie this one https://www.golfstart.dk/anmeldelser/asserbo-golf-pay-play/ I see the top image when using iPad horisontally and veritcally now.
But using my iPhone I see nothing when it is horizontal – and when vertical I see a very low, but wide part of the image.

I would like the image to be visible on all screens, in a relative normal size.

  • You can increase the min-height for mobile, for example, 500px, even 600px, so play with the number to find the perfect fit.

  • Hello Ying.
I must be lacing some basic skills here. I’m unable to get it to show. I dont know what i did, but somehow it suddenly was so big that i had to scroll several times to get to after the image.
But now i can get it back in any size. I’ve purged the cache.
Can yiu tell me exaclty what i need to change?
I guess it it on the outside container i need to change some dimension, right?

  • Looking at the ipad right now, it looks great in horisontal view. But in vertical view thet image is sitting below the title – and i can only see half of it. No matter what i change in the settings, i cannot make it look normal again….

  • The min-height is set to 50vh for mobile now. Can you set it to 100vh to test?

The image is a background image, so it won’t show the full image as expected. If you want to show full image, you will need to add an image block for mobile and set its dynamic tag to featured image, and set the container’s min-height back to auto.

  • Sorry for delay in reply. I’ve set it to 100vh and purged cache.

  • I have two issues:

I don’t want the image to show below title. Nd I want the image to be shown in natural dimensions 16:9 or 4:3 – just scaled down to the screen (wether it is iPhone or iPad)

  • Please check my previous reply below:

If you want to show full image, you will need to add an image block for mobile and set its dynamic tag to featured image, and set the container’s min-height back to auto.

You can add the image block above the title, and hide the image on desktop 🙂

  • No matter what i change withon the Single Post Hero i cannot get rid of the image that right now is shown on Ipad vertical/iphone below the heading, date and breadcrumbs.

I can add an dynamic image above the headline, but i can not set it to be only viible on mobile. I dont get the option to manage sizings, backgrounds etc. of the block, as i do with all other parts of the element.

Is this not ment to be changed within the Single Post Hero?

  • Hi there,

Do you have GB Pro? The device visibility setting is only available in GB Pro.

If you don’t have it, we can help with custom CSS.

Any yes, you need to make those changes in the Single Post Hero element.
