Hi Team,
i build a portfolio for different projects and create a post for each project where we show images and a short text.
1. i created a post template for pulling images through ACF. A used a gallery pattern from the GB library with a Masonry Layout (please see screenshot: https://imgur.com/uTPrku6). After filling in the dynamic data from the ACF fields the images/placeholders change in size and end up having all the same size (please see the URL). Desired design would be a Masonry Layout so every image has a different size. Do i have to set the size then in GB Blocks again after putting in the dynamic data (the values are set to “auto” before)?
2. I show the category on each post and want that this is clickable and put a link on it. Now it’s set toTerms List/Categoriesvia the Dynamic Field Input but it’s not a link. https://imgur.com/RywoB5m
Thank you! -
Hi there,
1. All your images on the page have the same aspect ratio, so it’s expected that they are showing the same size. Am I missing anything here? Try images with different aspect ratios to see the result.
2. Did you set the link to to term when creating the dynamic tag?

Hi Ying,
thank you.
1. That makes sense. Since the images are all very different in size (landscape + portrait) i find it difficult to create a nice and compelling design for all subpages (not the projects). I did some research and there are of course different options with Claude etc. I tried some but don’t really want to overcomplicate things. Since GP has no slider or Lightbox-Feature what would be your recommandation to achieve a clean and compelling layout?
2. No, i did only now. It works fine but the hover colour is not changing. The link is set to black and while hovering it should turn into green. I edited thehoverand thehover: focusproperty separately. No change and i don’t find the reason with inspecting the element. -

The latest GB and GB Pro have the Carousel block, which allows you to create sliders.
For the term list color issue, click the Main selector, click Manage selector button, click Add new, create a new selector
a:hover, then add hover color to this new selector. -

Thanks Ying, loving the Carousel-Feature already!
Is it possible to have a Masonry-Grid-layout (like in the third section of the page.gb-element-64402685) and when clicking on a picture it would open in a GB Full Size-Carousel to swipe through? Is that only possible via another Plugin or whould it be possible with the GB-Features and extra Code?
Thanks! -
You can try adding a carousel to an overlay and set the images to trigger the overlay.
However, the initial image shown in the overlay will always be the first image. It still lacks the function to behave like the specific gallery plugins.

Okay, i will try to build this. That means i create the Overlay and set up the Masonry Layout in the container. With triggering the event the gallery should be opening in the Overlay. Is that correct?
One thing which is bothering me creating all the projects: I have both portrait and landscape images in the portfolios, sometimes it’s on the 3rd, 6th, 7th or 9th position of the gallery, in some projects i only have landscape OR portrait images. when i’d set this up in the element of “Project Template” I have to put the portrait and landscape always on the same position. Maybe i make it too complicated? What could you recommend doing in this case? I copied different projects in the private field.

I think you should use WP image block in the Grid to create the masonry layout, and enable the WP native lightbox for the WP image block. So you don’t have to use overlays.
However, WP image block does not have dynamic data options, so it doesn’t work your template.
So overall, I would recommend using a dedicated gallery plugin instead.

Hi Ying,
i tried it with “Simple Lightbox” (where the controls are missing), “Lightbox for Gallery & Image Block” (which is not working with ACF). Do you have a recommendation which is working with ACF? I am hesitating to use “Responsive Lightbox & Gallery” since this has 1,2MB and a lot more functions than i actually need. -

I don’t, unfortunately!
