Removing Schema Markup Created by GeneratePress

  • Hello,
I have Yoast installed and removed the schema markup generated by GeneratePress on my site using a plugin, but am wondering if we are able to do this using an element as well?

I ask because when I installed the Code Snippets plugin recommended https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-php/ it crashed my site and I was not able to access it until I uninstalled the plugin. Looking at the support page for that plugin it appears to be going downhill with others having similar issues lately. I also had to go find the remnants it left in my database and delete them as well.

I installed another plugin, but it seems a bit massive for something so simple. It works, but like most plugins, it will probably slowly slip away one day too…

    Thanks,
    Wes

  • Hi there,

No, you can not use a hook element to insert this kind of PHP code, unfortunately.

If you don’t want to use the plugin, you will need to use a GP child theme and add the code to the functions.php file of your child theme.

  • Ok. Thank you, Ying.

  • No Problem 🙂
