Search Result page as grid using Element

  • Matt Clifton

Hi! I have created an Element, intending it for use on the Search Results page. (This is where I have set it to display). It shows featured image, post title, excerpt and a Read More button. Great.

The results appear in a single column, one after the other. But I’d like the results to appear as a grid (ie, a grid of search results, 3 columns wide). How can I do that? I’ve tried setting the editor width to 25%, the outer container to 25%, but these are not the solutions.

You can check https://nerdswithknives.com/?s=chicken for an example. I’d like it to look more like this (we use Smart Post Pro to create these grids with a fixed query). https://nerdswithknives.com/main-dishes/

    Thank you!

  • Hi there,

    1. You’ve set the container width and max-width to 25%, remove both.

    2. Go to customizer > layout > blog > columns, enable columns and set it to 3 columns.
