sign-up form in site library

  • Hi there,

on many sites in the site library I see a sign-up form where it says “Receive my latest articles”.
    https://gpsites.co/explore/
    https://gpsites.co/avery/
    https://gpsites.co/coach/

I know it’s just a demopage and the form has no real function. But assuming it was a real sign-up form, what would happen in the background?

    Concrete:
What does “Receive my latest articles” mean?

Is it a newsletter mailing that one signs up for? Would the blogger then always send the latest articles via newsletter?

Or does it mean that WordPress sends (automatically) an email every time a new article is created? If so, what plugin would do that?

    Thank you!!

  • Hi there,

You can decide whatever form you want to use on your site, the ones on our template are just a layout and create a space for you to insert your form.

What does “Receive my latest articles” mean?

This doesn’t mean anything. The wording depends on the function of the form you inserted.

Is it a newsletter mailing that one signs up for?

    It could be.

Or does it mean that WordPress sends (automatically) an email every time a new article is created

No, WordPress doesn’t have this feature, sending out newsletter requires form plugins.

  • Thank you very much, Ying.
    That helps!

  • You are welcome 🙂
