Hi there,
I have built a filter with the tab block, with which I can filter by subcategories within a category.
The only problem is that the individual tabs do not implement the CSS.So, when I visit the page for the first time, only the tab ALLE should be blue, because that is the current query.
Only when I click on a subcategory should the ALLE tab turn white and the current subcategory should turn blue.
But at the moment all tabs are blue when you first visit the site.
Only when you click on a tab does it behave correctly… What have I done wrong?Thank you!

Hi there,
How did you add the tabs? Did you duplicate/copy the existing tab?
If so, it’s not the correct way to do it, you should select the tabs menu or tabs items, and click the Add tab item button in the floating toolbar.
https://app.screencast.com/vjqhkJv27p2OYYou might need to re-build the tab to properly structure it.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply, it works very well now 👍
Yes, I had duplicated the tabs (I didn’t understand the principle until now).By the way, this is a super cool feature in v2!!!
That you can now set the query within the tab, and thus build these filters.
Or was that already possible with v1? I don’t think so, right? -
Great!
Yes, it is a new feature (instant pagination type) 🙂 We used to write custom code for that.

WOW, this is really good and a very useful improvement!!
Are there any other nice applications for this great feature?
It’s a shame that all the good things from v2 are so “hidden”.
I can’t find any detailed information about all these goodies from v2 anywhere.I just happened to come across a topic here in the support forum in which a user described how he displayed the subcategories via the tabs block. If I hadn’t happened to read this topic, I would never have known that this was possible.
That’s a pity, I’m sure there are many more good things in v2 that nobody knows about because there is no information about them.
Or do you have an idea where I could get such information?
I’m not talking about a specific application, but general information about what is possible with GB 2.0. -

The primary resource for all GenerateBlocks 2.0 features is the official documentation:
https://learn.generatepress.comAs you mentioned, there are definitely some hidden gems in GB 2.0 that shine in specific use cases. We’re continuously working on improving the docs, and the goal is to eventually include more real-world examples to highlight how even the smallest features can be powerful in the right context.

Hi Alvind,
I can’t find anything in the documentation about how to build a category filter from a tabs block:
https://learn.generatepress.com/blocks/block/query/#pagination-typeIt would be really nice to know what else you can do with this cool pagination type
…include more real-world examples
Yes, that would indeed be super helpful.
Patience Patience 😉
Thank you!!
