Submenu Disappears on Hover

  • scottydigital

    Hello,

I’m having issues with the dropdown submenu for one of my menu items. When you hover over the menu item, the dropdown appears. But, as I hover over the 2nd through 5th submenu items, the menu disappears. I’ve noticed that this only happens when I have a hero image in place. Maybe a z-index issue?

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide! Login info is below.

  • Hi there,

Can you set the Content Container of that page to Full Width first?
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/content-container/

It’s in the Layout Metabox of the page editor:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-metabox-overview/#where-is-it

The Full width option should be applied whenever you need some full width sections on the page.

After selecting the option, remove the Alignfull option on the first and last GB containers.

The Alignfull option should be avoided as it creates a horizontal scroll issue as you’ve probably noticed.

    Let me know 🙂

Thanks Leo. I’ve updated the layout options for the page and changed the containers from full to default. However, will I have to set the width of those containers to 1200px and make them margin: auto every time to get them to fit within the limit I set in the customizer?

And, this wasn’t supposed to fix the submenu issue, was it?

No – you can insert an inner container as seen here:
    https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/container-overview/

As for the submenu hover issue, remove the z-index: 999; set here:

Perfect! Thanks for your help, Leo! And, I finally understand the concept of Inner Containers lol

Again, thanks for helping me figure this out.

  • No problem 🙂
