Tablet responsiveness for Space site starter

  • Hi Team,

I experience several issues with tablet responsiveness on the website. One which I can do resolve is with the photographs on the page – 3 photos at the top of the page (link provided). One of the photo is overflowing despite me hiding it on tablet or changing the margin for tablet. Could you advise me how to fix it.

ANd also there are some issues with the menu and this I can see on couple of websites actually. On tablet I would expect to see the menu same way as on desktop (and indeed I can see it) but apart from that I have the hamburger menu as well. 1. Is this intentional? see photo 1
    2. What is happening when I click on it (photo 2) – I can see the hamburger and the logo appearing on the screen. I dont know how to fix it.

Ideally I do not want this hamburger on tablet.

I know that the person I am building the webiste for will be checking responsivness on tablet as well, so I really would like it to look good on tablet as well.

    Mobile works gtreat.

  • Hi there,

I just checked the Space template, and it does not seem to have an overflow issue on tablet.

May I see the issue on your site?

    1. Is this intentional? see photo 1
    2. What is happening when I click on it (photo 2) – I can see the hamburger and the logo appearing on the screen. I dont know how to fix it.

I do not see any photos you mentioned.

  • Hi Ying,

I typed the message and then realized that I cannot upload images.

    So I have two issues:

    1. with the 3 images at the top on my page (links in private message) and I seem not able to fix it or to hide the top right hand side image for tablet. Any ideas how to deal with it?

    2. with the hamburger menu on of Space starter site on tablet. Check the site on tablet and you will see that you have 2 menus (the desktop navigation menu and hamburger navigation menu) and here I asked if this is intentional.
Further still on laptop when you click on hamburger the second hamburger appears with the logo (super strange!). and would like to know the fix for this. Hope it makes more sense now?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Beata

  • 1. Can you select the container gb-element-a9fc5991 that contains the 3 images, and set itsmax-width to calc(100% - 60px) for desktop only?

The reason to set it only for desktop is that I only see this issue on your site when using a desktop. I assume your tablet’s resolution is similar to that of a desktop.

Let me know if it works!

    2. I do not see this issue. What device are you using?

  • hi Ying,

    1. resolved
    2. I use Samsung SM-T520 tablet with with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels (~299 ppi). I use it with landscape layout. I had someone checking smaller device and the page seem fine. will you be able to confirm that you do not see any issus with this size. Thanks!

  • Hi Beata

I am not seeing the 2. issue. Can you try clearing any caches and try again? Can you send us a screenshot of what you see?

  • Hi,

I am more that happt to send the screenshot. But either I am being silly or blind 🙂 I do not see the option to attach a file to my message here. Please enlighten me 🙂

    Thanks,

    Beata

  • Hi Beata,

You can upload your screenshot to https://postimages.org/ and share the link with us, thanks!
