One or two weeks ago, everything was fine. Today, I am unable to change the block type on existing pages or new pages. E.g. Change H2 to H3, or paragraph to list, etc. N.B. This only applies to blocks within a GeneratePress container. Blocks outside a GeneratePress container behave normally.
With the block selected, a header bar with options appears. Clicking on the block type (e.g. h2) does not result in the usual dropdown with all the options (h2,h3,h4, etc).
What has happened?

Hi there,
I’m unable to replicate the issue on my end.
Could you provide a temporary admin login to the site where you’re experiencing the issue? We’ll take a closer look.

The entire page has been inserted as a Pattern, so the individual block settings are locked until you enter Pattern editing mode.
Click the Edit Pattern button in the editor toolbar. Once you’re editing the Pattern itself, you’ll be able to modify the settings of the individual blocks.
Here’s a short demo showing the process: https://cln.sh/GZVvdl3qW00L2tt7S51n

Thanks, Alvind
That certainly works; however, I never had to enter Pattern Editing mode before. I just opened the page and edited it. The same applied when creating new pages.
I’m curious what changed. Was it an update? WordPress 7 perhaps?

Yes, it appears that way:
