Unable to Remove Author from Blog Posts

I’m having trouble removing the author from the blog posts

Here’s what I’ve already tried:
Customizer Settings:
Appearance > Customize > Layout > Blog > Posts

I unchecked “Display post author” it still appears there
Elements:
I also went to Appearance > Elements and edited the following templates:

Archive page hero

Blog loop template

Post page hero

In the block editor for these elements, I checked the inner structure via the List View and made sure there are no author blocks present — only the image, post title, and post date.

Despite all of this, the author still shows up on the front end.

Is there something I’m missing or a conflict I should be aware of?
