Unable to update footer element

  • I have added a theme, but when I try to make changes in the Footer, it fails to upload and gives JSON error. What to do?

I didn’t make any changes, clicked Save and still there was the same error.

  • Hi there,

What version of GB and GB Pro are you using?

  • I am using GP pro, Version 2.5.0

  • Hi there,

Try deactivate all plugins except GP Premium and GenerateBlocks. After that, check if saving no longer shows the JSON error. If the error is gone, reactivate the plugins one by one to identify which plugin is causing the issue.

Additionally, when saving the post that triggers the JSON error, open the browser console to see if there are any significant errors logged there.

  • I have deactivated plugins but getting the same error.
I am sharing a temporary login, you can see what’s wrong with it.
If this doesn’t work, then I will try to import footer from any other site.

  • I inspected the footer element, and it appears that the SVG social icons in the footer are causing the issue. I’m not sure why this is happening, but if you remove the icons and hit save, you should be able to save without any problems.

It might be a good idea to reach out to your hosting provider to ask if there is any SVG sanitization occurring on the server that could be preventing a block page with an SVG icon from being saved, resulting in the JSON error.
