unique classes only when needed

  • Hi there,
Excited to be trying the new forum for the first time 🙂

I have a generateblocks question. I am a traditionalist, purist, minimalist when it comes to markup. However, for dealing with the block editor and efficiency, I have been integrating GenerateBlocks into some of my projects.

However, it bugs me that every element has a unique class on it, like “gb-container-69728861”. I totally understand the purpose of those when unique styling is applied to a block. However, it seems like if a block/element is using inherited styling or global styling, these unique classes shouldn’t be necessary?

Would be great if there was a way to eliminate them where not needed on the front end. Even better, when they are needed, it there was a way to specify your own unique / semantic name instead of the random one that would be sweet.

    Thoughts?

  • Hi there,

currently they are required, but we are looking at Global Style options that would allow you to eliminate them. But we have no timeline on that as yet.
