Hi there,
i built another site with GeneratePress and this time i used the Site Library for a head start. I imported everything since the installation was blank. After creating all the content and images and pushing the site to Live i figured out that some of the original pages where ranking on Google with the subdomain. My question is: the pages and posts i dont need on my website i simply delete, right? There are still some Elements installed where i am not sure of if they are in use on the website i built. How can i figure that out? Otherwise i just would delete them or you would not recommend that?
Thank you for your help! -

Yes, correct.

You can try setting the element’s status to draft to test, if the site looks/functions the same, then you can remove it, otherwise, you need to keep it.

Hi Ying,
okay thank you. That’s simple – didn’t come to my mind. And the page with is still ranking on Google now, what is the best doing with it? Just deleting it too?

Hi there,
theres a few choices.
You can use a redirect plugin and set up a 301 redirect that URL to another page.
Or you can use a SEO plugin to return a 410 status code for those URLs to tell Google the page has permanently gone. -

Okay, that’s very helpful. Thank you, David! I know it’s not GeneratePress related but i really appreciate the help a lot!
