Vertical shape dividers

  • Hi,

I see that shapes can be added to the bottom or top of horizontal containers, but how can i achieve this angled or wavy vertical shape as per the two links below with Generatepress.

    https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-checklists.html

  • Hi there,

That type of effect is not using the ‘Shape’ feature but rather just custom CSS. Let us know if you need assistance with that.

  • Hi there,

yes could you suggest some CSS that i could use to obtain these effects, it would be hugely appreciated.

  • Sure, could you link us to the section on your site where you want to implement this effect?

  • Hi,

Please see the website hero sections in link provided (private info link).

Are you able to show the straight angled divider like the ‘weddingwire’ site, and then also provide a solution to do the ‘wavy’ vertical divider like the RACV website linked on my original support ticket.

  • Hi there,

    its possible in GenerateBlocks 2.0.
Which is coming close to the end of Beta testing.
Is that something you can wait for ? Or you can test today ?

    let me know.

  • Hi David. I am happy to wait for 2.0. What is the ETA release for 2.0? I tried to use it but had to revert back to 1.7

By the way where would I find this vertical shape divider setting be found in 2.0 when it comes out?

  • We’re aiming for a release in 14th January:

    https://generatepress.com/generateblocks-2-0-a-new-era/

For adding shapes in GB 2.0 – see here for reference:

    https://app.screencast.com/FiV9rzzv4DuMd

    Summary:
After adding your custom SVG you can set its Position of Top , Bottom and Left to 0 – removing the Right value to position it to the left side.

For reference the custom svg I used was taken from the examples site:

    <svg aria-hidden="true" preserveAspectRatio="none" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 32 400" fill="none"><path d="M23.014 144.538C16.7867 187.115 1.88699e-06 230.252 0 400L4.44656e-06 -3.05176e-05H30.3243C34.9271 47.0588 29.2413 101.961 23.014 144.538Z" fill="#0067F6"></path></svg>

  • Awesome. Thanks David looking forward to the release and trying this!

  • You’re welcome!
