Hi,
Just recieved an alert from WordFence:
Update Check Encountered Error on ‘gp-premium’
Type: Update Check ErrorDetails: The update check performed during the scan encountered an error: Attempt to assign property “plugin” on bool [gp-premium] Wordfence cannot detect if this plugin/theme is up to date. This might be caused by a PHP compatibility issue in the plugin. Get more information: https://www.wordfence.com/help/?query=scan-result-update-check-failed
Thanks.

Hi there,
We migrated our servers overnight which meant the gp server was out for a period of time.
And it may take a little while for network changes to propagate, during which time the API may not be able to get the information it requires for that check.Give it 24 hrs and i would expect that error to clear.

Thanks David 🙂

You’re welcome. Let us know if it persists.

Hi David, I had this same problem today — months after the original post.
Have your servers been changed again?
-
Alvind
Hi there,
Does your issue still persist? We haven’t made any changes to the server recently.

Hi David and Alvind,
Were you able to figure out what the issue was? I’m getting the same WordPress warning emails on some of my sites.
-
Hi there,
The issue was caused by GP moving its server to another one, but it happened in June, the issue should not occur now after half a year later.

Weird. I have several sites hosted on a Namecheap reseller account and 2 of those are generating the error emails.
-
Are the GP Premium plugin and GP theme up to date on those sites?
GP Premium is at 2.5.0, and the theme is at 3.5.1.
-
nathanschubert
Just checked and yes, theme and plugin are updated on both sites.
-
That’s weird, have you edited any of the theme files? One of the reason that the msg appears is that the plugin file is corrupted.
The message suggests that Wordfence can’t verify the plugin’s current version and whether updates are available. if the plugins are up to date already, try to check if there are any PHP errors in your logs that might provide more insight into the problem.
And is the msg only mention GP Premium plugin or any other plugins as well?
Let me know 🙂

Nope, never edited anything. And yes, the error is only about gp-premium. Everything else seems to grab the update status without issue.
I’ll check the log files a bit later and see if there’s anything there. It’s not a huge issue, when an update is released I’ll see it on one of my other sites.

Hi @nathanschubert,
Are you still able to complete automatic updates even with the error message from Wordfence in your case?
-
warpie
FWIW, I also get the same warning.
Both GP Premium plugin and GP theme are up to date.

@warpie
Can you answer Alvind’s question so we can get more info on this?
