Hi there,
Do you mean linking the about page to the ‘Learn More’ button in the sidebar under the avatar image?
-
claudiasl
No, I mean linking the name of the author in each post to the About page.
-
Just to confirm, are you hoping to make the author link go to a static page (About page) instead of the author archive? https://www.screencast.com/t/lj45D9sBO
If so this filter should help:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/generate_post_author_output/#custom-author-nameAdding PHP: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-php
Let me know if this helps π

Hi Leo,
That’s right. I want the name to link to the Author page.
Where can I add the code? Code Snippet plugin?
So I just put the link to my Author page in the MY CUSTOM URL?Thanks.

Hi
I have tried using code snippets but it doesn’t go to the about page when I clicked the name on the article.
It goes to this page: https://butterjoykitchen.com/author/admin/ -
what is the code you are using? it doesn’t seem to be working.
The code in the article is an example, you need to modify it to fit your need.
Let me know π

Hi,
I used this code:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/generate_post_author_output/#custom-author-name
I changed the URLs.Is there anything that I missed?
-
Then it should work.
Can you provide an admin login so I can check the backend setup for you?
Please edit your first post on this topic, and add the info into the private info field. It will only be seen by the support team.

Hi Ying,
Did you get my login info?
-
I only see the login link and password. We would need the username as well.
Thanks!

Oops, sorry! Forgot to include it!

I don’t see you adding the code anywhere.
When you add the code, make sure to choose ‘PHP Snippet’ in the Code Type dropdown inside the Snippet Editor and ensure it is activated.
