Hi, I’m having an issue with the GenerateBlocks button block. I can add a button, but when I go to link it to something, as soon as I type the first character in the “Paste URL or type to search” box, it closes the link box and returns focus to the button. The effect is that the first character I type in that box gets added as the “link” and the rest of the characters end up in the button. So now the link is wrong AND the button text is messed up. This is only the case when the “Paste URL…” box is empty. So if I got through that process, then click the link icon again, as long as I don’t delete the one character in the box, I can use that box to add a page link. But if I delete that character, now the box is empty and the same bug happens. (I can deal with this though it’s annoying, but when I turn the site over to my client, I cannot expect them to deal with this.)
I recorded the process which probably explains it better. The video is me trying to create a button linked the the page ‘contact’. Before I shot this I disabled every plugin except GB and GB Pro, and switched to the GeneratePress theme. Video URL in the private info.
Thanks for your time.

Hi there,
I couldn’t replicate the issue as you described. Are there any significant errors showing up in the browser console? They may provide some clues.
Additionally, try deactivating all plugins except GenerateBlocks and GenerateBlocks Pro to see if the issue persists.

Hi Alvind,
I had deactivated every plugin except GenerateBlocks and GenerateBlocks Pro before I shot the video. I also switched from our custom theme to the Twenty Twenty Four theme to rule out any theme issues. I also have most caching disabled.
When I load the page to edit, I get this error in the console:
Error while traversing the CSS: Error: undefined:8:1: missing ‘{‘
in block-editor.min.js?ver=8a070b748cf406a8d42eWhen I add the button block, no additional console messages.
When I click inside the button text, I get:
Bottom margin styles for wp.blockEditor.URLInput is deprecated since version 6.2 and will be removed in version 6.5. Note: Set the
__nextHasNoMarginBottom
prop to true to start opting into the new styles, which will become the default in a future versionThen when I start typing in the URL box, I get the same behavior as before, but nothing else in the console.
I’m running GB v 1.8.3 and GB Pro v 1.6.0, on WordPress v 6.4.3.

Could you provide temporary login credentials for us to take a closer look at the issue?

Sure, I will add that info.

Hi there,
This was a bug, we’ve fixed it in GB 1.9 and it’s now at RC (Release Candidate) state, when the master version is released, you can update the plugin to fix the issue.
