One last questions. Is it correct, that you cannot hover over each menu-name and each mega-menu opens instantly?
For example, when I hover/click the 1st top-level menu, the mega menu opens. Now, when hover/click the 2nd top-level menu you can not click it. I need go away from the navi-area with my mouse, then I can click and open the 2nd top-level menu.
I guess this is something which would need further development as you mentioned before.

The mega menu should not interfere with the behaviour of the menu itself.
If the focus is remaining on the 1st item you open then, i assume the menu content is somehow overlapping the primary navigation.If you can share a link to the sit where i can see the issue i may be able to advise
