Content Template Element for Blog

  • Hi there, I’ve created a blog page and added a quer loop to pull in the posts. When I try to create an element> content template> assign to all posts I am not seeing it being pulled through to the post page. Can you let me know what I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks

  • Hi there,

You added a query loop into the posts’ content template, why?

What do you want to show on the front end for the post?

    Let me know ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Hi, No I didn’t add a query loop into the post content template. I added a query loop on the ‘blog’ page to pull in the posts. It is for the the actual content of the blog post I am struggling. I want to style what the post will look like. I added element> content template and set it to post>all posts but it is not pulling through.

I just want to style the blog post and have that layout display when someone clicks into the blogpost.

    Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I don’t quite understand your settings and goals sorry.

You do have a query loop block in the content template which is assigned to posts > all posts, why do you add that?

You can create content template for single posts, but you added a query loop block in the content template, that’s what I do not understand. I’m not sure what layout you are trying to achieve. Can you explain some more? Maybe with screenshots?

  • Oops sorry Ying. I must have done that within the content template without realising. I’ve deleted it.

Sure I’ve added a link to my own website where I’ve done this before. I just want to style the post page so when I create a post it goes into the same layout.

  • I get it now!

In this case, you just need to create the correct block element - content template, the location posts >all posts is correct.

In your element, you can add a dynamic content block to present the post content.

And other things you want to show on a post.

  • That did it. I don’t know what I was doing lol. Thanks Ying!

  • Glad to hear that! You are welcome ย  ๐Ÿ™‚
