Hey forum,
I created some shadows on my site to make it look more interesting. Like here:
https://testing.timodee.com/products/I would like to have the same shadow on my blog page.
https://testing.timodee.com/blog/But when I try to edit the site that’s not possible.
How can I add the same shadow?
Thanks,
Timo -
Hi there,
The
box-shadow
on the blog page is currently applied with this CSS in the Additional CSS field in the customizer:.box-shadow { box-shadow: 0px 0px 35px -13px rgba(0,36,72,0.4); }
The better option would be to use the Effects option in GB pro which you have:
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/effects-overview/To do so, edit the Block Element – Content template that is used for the Blog page:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-content-template/Click on the main GB container that’s holding all the content then go to the Advanced tab and remove the
box-shadow
custom class in there:
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/advanced-options-overview/#additional-CSS-ClassThen the Effects option should work.
Let me know if this helps π

Are you sure, we’re talking about the same shadow?
I don’t mean this:
https://app.screencast.com/oOyPve0em2A1cI mean this one:
https://app.screencast.com/jigB4iZq4g02aI created this with the use of a box shadow here:
https://app.screencast.com/NV2CnKlMi61AQAre we talking about the same thing? π
Thanks,
Timo -
We are not talking about the same as you didn’t mention anything about the header shadow π
The header shadow is applied globally with this CSS in the Additional CSS field which you can edit if needed:
#sticky-navigation, .site-header { box-shadow: 1px 1px 1px 1px rgb(54, 54, 54, 0.20); border-bottom: 2px solid rgb(54, 54, 54, 0.50); }
It would be the same shadow regardless of which page you are on.

Hey!
I don’t mean that shadow.
Please watch this:

Ok I see what you are saying now and unfortunately, this is quite complicated and not a very common thing to do.
If you want everything to match, then the only solution is to use a Loop Template instead of a Content Template to build the blog page so you can insert the same GB container with a shadow:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-loop-template/Then you would need to use GB’s Query Loop block to build the blog cards (https://www.screencast.com/t/x7OHTYCCaQy).
It would be quite a bit of work for sure.

Ok. I guess I’ll leave it as it is then π
