Difference between Content and Body in Theme > Customizing > Colors

  • pepperventures

Hi everyone, I’m trying to get my new site all set up and running into a really annoying issue. I want to use the same color for my primary global button style with the background red and the text white.

I also want to have any links in my blogs show up as the same red color. So I’ve been playing around in the Appearance > Customizing > Colors but I cannot figure how do get this set up properly.

I’ve got it set up like this…

Body > Text Color > Black
Body > Link Color > Red (with orange hover)

Button > Background Color > Red (with orange hover)
Button > Text Color > White

Content > Text Color > Black
Content > Link Color > Red (with orange hover)

The links in my text are working as I want them to but because I’ve got the button set to the same red color, I can’t see the button text when I make it becomes a link (which all my buttons are). So the buttons are just red background with red text.

I don’t really get the difference between Body and Content. Content changes all the links on my sample page and body doesn’t seem to do anything.

Is there anything I can do to overwrite this in the global settings or would it be better for me to just create a separate button style or something?

  • Hi there,

Can you try removing the link color from the content?

I’ve tried that but it still doesn’t fix the issue with the link color in the button. It is still the same color as my other links in the text which means I can’t see it on the red button. Any other ideas?

  • Can I see a button that has the issue on your site?

    Let me know 🙂
