Display a second menu line containing child items in a category

  • Wondering how to replicate BBC website menu functionality.

On homepage there are 10 menu items containing primary sections (Home / News / Sport / Business / Innovation / Culture / Travel / Earth / Video / Live):
    https://www.bbc.com/

When inside some category (e.g. Business), second menu line is also shown, containing child items of that category (Future of Business / Technology of Business / Work Culture):
    https://www.bbc.com/business

On mobile devices there is a single hamburger menu containing the whole menu structure.

  • Hi there,

you could use the Secondary Navigation option in GP Premium.
Then swap the menus based on category ( or whatever condition ) using a plugin like so:

    https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/conditional-menus/

The mobile menu, you can use the Off Canvas Panel and display a separate menu containing all links if required.
