Dynamic Mailto Link

  • I tried following some guidance on another thread, but it didn’t work. I need to prepend a hyperlink with “mailto:” so as to turn it into an email link. I’m using a headline block formatted as <p> with dynamic data that uses prefix “Email: ” and custom field email as the dynamic data as well as link. I’ve also added a class to the headline block called am_email to be able to identify it with custom code. Can you tell me how to make this work? Screenshot below:

  • Hi there,

Try using the GB dynamic data option in the right sidebar instead, and you can set the link type to email.

And remember to disable the GP dynamic data option in the floating toolbar to avoid conflicts.

  • That helps, although I need to prepend the word “Email: ” in front of the headline and the only way I can see to do that is through the database icon in the formatting bar. However, when using that method, there is no option to set the link type. Is there a way to have the best of both worlds? If not, I’ll have to split it onto two lines or into two containers. Thanks.

  • Doesn’t seem to have this issue when I tested it:
