GB Pro features

    Hi,

    I want to find out if I used any GenerateBlocks Pro features on my site and if not delete the Pro plugin.

    Are the following Pro features:
    (please see screenpic https://snipboard.io/Hj5zPy.jpg)

    Container > Block > Advanced:
    – HTML Anchor
    – Tag Name
    – Additional CSS Classes

    I read online the following are Pro features (is this correct?):
    – Custom Attributes
    – Hide on Desktop tablet, mobile
    (Hide is not working on my site for some reason to hide a container or headline block. Are they the settings described on this link? https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/advanced-options-overview/#hide-on-options-pro-feature)

    Hi Mel,

    The settings in your screenshot are not GB Pro features.

    The custom attribute and hide-on features on the Advanced section are GB Pro features.

    Can you try #1 here to debug the hide feature not working?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/

    It’s recommended to backup your site before proceeding with this.

    I would like to not use Pro features and get rid of the Pro plugin and my Pro license.

    I think the only ones I might have liked to use were the Hide on features. But I will not use them now.

    Do I still have to worry about debugging if I don’t use Hide on? Could the fact of it not working be part of a bigger problem that I need to check out?

    If I delete the Pro plugin (after backup) could my site break? If yes, could I still fix this by re-installing and activating the Pro plugin (if I still have admin access)?

    Hi there,

    when you say the “Hide” is not working.
    Is there somewhere i can see this on your site ? If you still want to use it ….

    If you deactivate GB Pro, and there are blocks that use its functionality then some of those functions won’t work any more. This could be an Advanced Background, a Global Style or any other feature that GB Pro adds.

    If you re-activate the Pro plugin then those functions will be restored.

    This is how any good plugin should work.
    ie. it saves its settings in your database or for blocks in the post save , so it can be deactivated and reactivated without breaking stuff.

    Thanks for the offer to look into the “Hide” not working. I don’t want to use it so there is no need.

    Could you please confirm the following:

    “Use global max-width” is a Pro feature? Please see https://snipboard.io/9DJd4l.jpg
    (I just tested deselecting it and using no value in the max-width field for the home page. The page looks the same.)

    Are “dynamic content”, “dynamic background image” also Pro features? Are “background settings” (with advanced not toggled) ok (not Pro)? Please see https://snipboard.io/wQEJy1.jpg

    Reassuring to know that I can deactivate GB Pro and restore the functions if I reactivate it.

    If you want to know if the option is from GB PRO, you just need to disable the GB Pro plugin, if the option disappears, it means it is a GB Pro feature, otherwise, it’s from GB free.

    I disabled GB PRO and checked my site – all ok – then deleted the plugin.
