I Need a Footer-Only Page for My Blog’s ‘Privacy Policy’ Page [Mediavine]

  • Hello,

    Hope you’re doing well!

My blog was recently accepted into Mediavine’s ad network.

The last thing I need to do before running ads is include a “Privacy Policy” page on my blog.

To that end, I need a footer-only page at the bottom of my blog to host said content.

I’m not sure if you need this, but here is what Mediavine is look for: https://tinyurl.com/23addt6k

And here’s the text HTML they require me to include: https://tinyurl.com/yrxc3twp

I’m not tech-savvy in the slightest.

Could you provide me with simple, step-by-step instructions on how to do this?

I’d like to take care of this quickly so as to get started with Mediavine 🙂

Thanks for all you do – talk soon!

    Warmly,

    L.

  • Hi there,

    1, create you privacy page.
    2. go to Appearance > Menus and create a new Menu, title it something appropriate like Footer Menu, and add your Privacy link to it. Save that.
    3. go to Appearance > Widgets and in the Footer Bar add a Menu block and set it to display your Footer Menu.

  • Thanks, David!

That first step seems REALLY important, but I don’t know how to do it …

    “Create your privacy page.”

Again, I don’t know much about how to do this …

Could you provide me more detailed instructions on how to do the first step?

That seems like the best place to start.

    Thanks 🙂

  • So the Privacy policy may require tailoring to your sites requirements.
But WordPress can give you a head-start. Go to Dashboard > Settings > Privacy and there you generate a privacy policy page.

  • David,

    Got it!

And the literal (like a URL) link to that page is the “link” I’ll add in step two, as you’ve outlined, right?

I’ll give it a go and report back – thanks!

    Warmly,

    L.

P.S. Just to clarify, this link will ONLY appear in the footer of my website, right? Thanks again!

  • In the Appearance > Menus when you create your new menu, you should see the Privacy page in the list of pages.

The Link will only show in the footer.
If it shows up anywhere else then let me know.

  • David,

    Thanks for this!

The Privacy Policy page has been made.

    Real quick, though …

Is it possible to make it look like the REST of the pages on my site?

    Design-wise, I mean …

That way, there’s greater uniformity between pages, if that makes sense.

Every page on my site (and there aren’t many) look the same, except this one.

I’ve included all links in the “private information” tab below – thanks!

    Warmly,

    L.

  • So the Privacy page is using.a Block Element Page Hero to display the Title with the grey background
If you view the page, and check in the Admin Bar > Elements menu it will show you shortcut links to any elements loading on that page.
Look for the the Page Hero, edit that and in its Display Rules exclude the Privacy Page
