I’m using custom content template for post but the comments don’t work

  • Hello,

I am designing a simple blog with a custom template. The truth is I have something extremely simple in mind.

Everything seems to work fine, but when I go to design the comments section I get this:

In English it says something like “comments are not enabled for this type of content: gp_elements”

In wordpress everything seems fine, I’m not sure where the problem could be

    Thanks greetings

  • Hi there,

Not sure what you mean by editing the comments area.

How did you edit it as GP’s content template does not support the comment area?

  • What I mean is that with “Element” adding content template for all posts, this way the blog should look more unique. Plus I could add share buttons without having to install a plugin just for that, Its pretty cool the option of the Theme

The problem occurs when I try to insert the comment blocks, there the editor shows me that warning and the entries are left without the possibility of comments. Just insert

  • Hi there,

Yes, that’s the default behavior because a Post hasn’t been instantiated yet in an Element. On the Front end, that should reflect though.

What you can do is, edit a page, place the comments Blocks there and edit it from there as well. Then, once you’re done editing, cut and paste it in the Content Template.

By default though, even if you use a Content Template, the default comments section should already appear without those Blocks.

  • Quite right regarding warning message

Regarding the comments themselves, I just noticed that it was my mistake. By default I had comments disabled, then while editing I changed it but the entry I was working on remained with the original option (comments disabled)

Now I have everything I need to finish designing the blog section, thank you very much
