Image dimensions not changing in post preview

  • I am editing an old post on our site. For the edit, I added a new image by copy/pasting it in from a google doc. I can see the image and resize the dimensions to where I want, but then when I preview, these images are all extra large and not what I want. Is this a problem with the image itself or with the preview? I do not want to make the post updated and live if it will cause an issue for users.

  • Hi there,

Any chance you can link us to the page in question?

You can use the private information field.

    Let me know 🙂

  • This is the original post I am trying to update. The images in the original look okay. It’s in the preview of the updated post that the images look off.

  • Hi there,

the issue could be related to the copy and paste.
the image in Google docs may contain extra formatting / meta that is messing with how its displayed.

Test this by saving the image to your desktop, upload it to the WP Media Library and add it to the image block as you require.

If it still causes an issue then it could be the image optimizer you’re using is changing the <img> to a <picture> which can affect how the CSS is applied. Is it a WP image block or a GB Image block you’re using?

  • Okay I have the post published but the table image on the example section is not resizing. I tried downloading and uploading the image file itself. It worked for the formula images above it, but for some reason this table is just not resizing. What am I missing?

  • The table image i see the block has a Width value set to 600px. And thats what i see on the example URL.
    What do you see ?

  • I got it to work, thank you for your help. I did have to manually upload the images.

  • Glad to hear that
