Issues Getting Full-Width Page

  • I am struggling to get my pages to function in full-width.

I have created a “Full Page” layout element and have chosen the specific pages I want to display in full width. But, those pages continue to show up in a non full width design. (ex https://k9ofminecom.bigscoots-staging.com/30-things-to-teach-dog-online-course/)

    Can you help me?

  • Hi there,

is there a separate login for the folder ? As i can’t get past that initial login with the details provided.

In the meantime check that the pages do not have a Content Container setting in the page editor:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/content-container/

  • Sorry about that- just added the pop-up info in the private section.

  • Because you are using a content template (Page Template) for the page, and the root container has an 850px width set:

You need to exclude those full-width pages from that content template element.

  • Thank you! I was able to exclude that page from the Page Template and now it is full width!

However, the title line that shows up under my standard pages is still showing, despite turning off/disabling “Content Title”. Any idea how I can fix that?

Also, is there a way to set the page’s template from within the WP page (see photo)? Or do I need to go to Elements and Enable or Disable a certain template there every-time I want a certain styled page?

Do you mean this part? Isn’t that the block element – page hero?

If this is not the issue you are referring to, please share a screenshot of the “title line”.

The option in your screenshot is not from GP, and GP is not a block based site, you should not have that option. It might be added by a 3rd party plugin.

If you want to change the content template location, you need to go to the element and edit the location rules there.

  • Ah yes thank you, I’m still figuring all this out. I do see the hero block element that is causing the red line. And OK, I did not know that built-in template option was 3rd party. Good to know, thank you!

  • You are welcome 🙂

There’s an easy way to tell what are the elements used on a page, when viewing a page, you can see the Elements button in the top admin bar, hover on it, you will see all the elements that are assigned to this page.
