I’m using Version 1.9.0-beta.2 / Version 1.7.0-rc.1 on a staging site as I redesign my site.
And I’m having a very difficult time with the blog layout.
I have a blog loop template but I can’t get it to fill the width of the container.
I did have a sidebar displaying but have since deactivated that element.
Is this something perhaps related to the alpa / beta versions?
I’ve also discovered that the Header, set to full width
Takes on the body background color
Generally the header background color spans the entire width if set to full.
My main concern is the blog layout; the header color is a secondary and not as important issue.

Hi there,
is it possible to see the site ?

Of course — login found in Private Info

If you go to Articles (which is the blog page in settings). The default right side bar shows even though I’ve turned off sidebar for the Blog layout.
I also have a Post Archive Content Template set to show on All Archives, Search, and Blog, but it’s not showing.

And when I go to Blog Layout in customizer, I have no options
On my live site using released version of blocks, even though I’m also using a content template element, I still have the layout options for archives and single

Hmm, I seem to have gotten some of the issues resolved (even thought I’m not sure how)!
All except not being able to apply a body color because it also shows in the full width header.
Seems I’ve experienced that before but can’t remember what the fix was.

The Hero element, the top level container block has the
.section--wide
class which is setting a Max Width of 1400px and a calculated width of 100vw – 64px
So it won’t reach the edge of the viewport to block the body background. If you want to keep the blue background with the white border, the you would need to wrap that top level container inside another container block, where you could set the full width background color for the hero

Hey David,
I’m talking about the site header with logo and navigation, not the Hero section.
I want a white header and to be able to assign a body background color.
But when I assign a body background color,
I can’t get the header area to be white full width.
Sorry if I was confusing!
I just can’t figure out why when I assign a body background color, I can no longer have a white header that extends the browser width *full*

Hi there,
You’ve added a custom
max-width
value to the header in your CSS. This value is overriding the full-width setting in the customizer. -
HI Alvind,
Ahh, the Generate Blocks styles!.
I’m still new to these new styles options in G Blocks
Thank you!
