Hello,
When using anchor links to content in the main menu you need to use the entire URL, like https://iamformusic.org/#who. This is not working when on a secondary page. This site is very basic, so I see no conflicts that could be inhibiting this.
You can see that on the privacy page I have the main menu with full URL links to the home page and anchor links. For example the menu item “What We Do” has the full URL in the custom menu link, https://iamformusic.org/#who. But while on the privacy policy page this link will not go to the anchor, or even the home page. See https://iamformusic.org/privacy-policy/
Do you know why this might be? I have seen no other post about this, but I do see info on how to set this up, which I have done many times over the years.

Hi there,
The URLs are correct.
Can you disable all plugins except GP premium to test?

Yes, I have done that at our staging site, and still no go. Go to this page, https://iamformusic.wpenginepowered.com/donate/, and click “What We Do” menu item that has the #what anchor, and full URL, not working. only GP Premium is enabled.
Any ideas?

Hi there,
Under Settings > Permalinks, what Permalinks structure do you use?
-
2jamgen
It is set to Post Name, such as https://iamformusic.wpenginepowered.com/sample-post/
-
Can you provide your staging site admin login for us to do some testing?

Okay, so am including private info for you…

I disabled the elements module, now the link works as expected.
Please check which element is causing the issue by deactivate all of them, and re-activate them one at a time.

Okay, this is very helpful! I would not have thought that would be an issue.
Have a great day!

The issue was a menu offset script that I found in the support forums. Not really needed for now, so turned off and the menu anchor links from other pages work fine.

Glad to hear that 🙂
