Hi,
I’m not sure what’s happened but something has caused my staging site to significantly change it’s formatting. It looks like some sort of conflict or backend issue, but I’ve asked my host to look and they said they can’t see anything wrong in the backend.
Everything was fine this morning, then I started making changes to the colors within Customize and within page editing.
I first noticed an issue in the social icons in my secondary nav weren’t appearing as how they’re set up in Element. Then I noticed image sizes on my homepage were displaying much larger than they should be. Next, I saw the social icons in my footer appearing strangely, then I went on mobile and it looks a complete mess!
Do you have any ideas what I might have done? Or what I can do to fix it?
I’ve cleared the caches and cleared my search history on devices but it isn’t that.

Hoping it’s something easy!
Thanks very much,

Hi there,
go to Dashboard > GenerateBlocks > Settings and click Regenerate CSS
And then Clear any caches on the site and the browser.Let me know

Hi David,
Thanks for the info. I tried to do both those things you said, but it didn’t fix it.
I then had my host roll back to a day earlier save of the site to see if it removed the issue, but it all loaded up the exact same including all the changes I’d made that day (yesterday), which is very strange because it shouldn’t show changes made after the saved restore.
I was playing around with colors in customize and editing pages. The only other thing I did was create an element for the footer to replace the widgets.
I did the following:
Add new element -> Block -> Hook -> generate_footer -> entire site
Is that incorrectly set up? Maybe that caused an issue?
On desktop, the issues don’t appear so bad but I can notice them clearly in the social icons (both secondary nav and footer), in the images on homepage and when going on category pages. On mobile the whole site looks like it’s lost formatting.
I’d really like to get this fixed asap so I can get my site live. Is there anything else you can think of that might have caused the issue?
Do you think rolling back to a previous version is a good idea to see if it removes whatever caused the issue?
I was so close to being finished when this happened, was just fine tuning the color scheme, very frustrating!
Thanks very much for your help,

Hi David,
I’ve fixed it.
I decided to go through all the elements that were looking strange. Started with the footer social icons, that didn’t do it, then I changed the photo sizes on homepage and nothing.
Then I went into the social icons in the secondary nav and deleted the two icons on the right side and that fixed all the formatting across the site.
Wish I’d just done this yesterday morning.
Cheers,

Glad to hear you found the issue
